Hello all,
I have not been on here for a while and have not driven my S for sometime!
I have a problem with corrosion in the rear light boards.I have tried taking them out and cleaning but just when I get one light working another fails!
I think I need new light boards and connectors, but I'm having trouble finding anyone who stocks them. Ford have discontinued these. Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks

If you take a good look at these lights the connections on what looks like a thick printed circuit are fitted so that they are just 'touching' each other at various points. Don't know how else to explain it.... But this is especially so at the points/contacts at the light bulb holders. On mine there was some corrosion at these points and I just cleaned them up well and soldered them. This has been effective so far. Ultimately I will take them all apart and solder every joint. It's basically a really bad, cheap Ford design, wit h just a "touching" connection IMHO. And people criticise Good old Joe Lucas ?

But the smoke doesn't leak out of Ford electrics like it did with Lucas components
Not sure where all your dodgey connections are, looks like a single metal strip from plug to each bulb holder on mine?
After replacing the connector plugs and the bulb holder boards I still had "problems" (plugs are not premium quality) so soldered some tails onto the boards, cut the plugs off the loom and fitted some decent 6 way plugs and sockets from, it could have been, Car Builder Solutions (or somewhere like that)?
work computer seems to be blocking photo upload? pictures to follow
