I've recently replaced all the flexible fuel hoses front and rear with the exception of the two tank connections, outlet to pump and fuel return.

The tank outlet looks to be a larger size to the others, does anyone know what size this is please? Would like to obtain the hose before starting the job. I assume this needs tank removal to replace, would appreciate any clue as to where the fixings are before pulling the carpet out.

My tank vents to atmosphere via the N/S wheel arch,I take it thats standard on an early pre cat?

TIA

The standard fuel pump has the following spec:

Inlet 12mm
Outlet 7.7mm

When replacing the tank to pump hose be sure to check that the hose is routed clear of the lower wishbone.

The vent hose exits into the N/S/R wheel arch on pre-cats. BTW the inlet hose access hole is not sealed on my car and you can see through to the tank from inside the wheel arch, is this the case on your car? This is an easy entry point for fumes given the location of the vent tube and I'm thinking a grommet or sealant has not been replaced.

Thanks for that, I'll go get some hose.
My outlet hose is definately sealed into the boot aperture with mastic, the hose looks original and has gone rock hard.

In 'old money' I used 3/8" from tank to pump inlet and 5/16" from pump to filter! Just in case you can only source imperial. My exit hole from the boot was sealed with black mastic, just reseal when fitted. Good opportunity to replace the filter while you are at it. I used s/s braided hose as I had a good source of this pipe. Also use new pipe clips throughout. Regards, Pete
