Ok this morning my Radio packed in on the way to work, even stops the CD from playing. Well it has been the beast from new in '96 so time for a change anyway.

So with the IPOD more and more in us.

What is the best system to get to replace the old one.

Budget is £200 to £250.

Go for it guys let me hear music while parked up and in jams LOL

Nothing very helpful to add, but I like Alpine. Fitted one with a boot changer to my XJ-S some years back and loved it. I wish I could get a unit I could actually see the display on for the chim, but the original Pioneer unit fitted has a wood effect surround which perfectly matches the dash -damn it!

Just put a Sony CDX-DAB700U in my Griff. Complete with CD, DAB and DAB+ and USB in front for memory stick or smart phone.

You can get the best music by using your right foot ears

I was looking at the Pioneer DEH-80PRS as it does not appear to be a disco ball unlike most and supports the most recent Bluetooth standards.

I have the older version as the moment, Pioneer DEH-P77MP. Looks good but does not support bluetooth.

I have an Alpine with iPod, USB, Aux input, FM and integrated Bluetooth. Previous owner has a dirty great amp & speakers in the boot, though probably no better than a good pair of door speakers.

FM reception still pretty average but better than the previous.

Bluetooth slightly academic as its difficult to hear you over the noise, but you can usually let SWMBO know you're late.

Im having an Alpine installed next weekend. It has blue tooth and reviews are good.

Halfords are doing a good deal on them:

If you have an ipod/iphone then this could be a good idea. Not tried one myself.

That looks good but the phone is too big for yhe dash panel slot

I got a Pioneer DEH-X3500UI

Drive to work was different today had to play with this new toy lol

Sounds great and will I always liked the CD auto changer this is great with the IPOD great mix o tracks now

Cost £79:99 + £30 to fit it nice job took 30 minutes to wire it up and off I went.

Now I had taken the panel off leaving all the wires hanging out and I refitted that panel. Fussy on that sort of thing will post pic later

Cheap cheerful and does the job. Must off the time it will be switched off as the sound of the V8 is oh so good.

I have that one Matt, the 80PRS. I had it working once, but now it defies all logic when trying to get it to change radio station, even if it does look right. 68 page manual is no use either, so clearly it was designed with the TVR in mind.....

defies all logic... it certainly does sound like a perfect match! Have you got any pics of yours fitted Anthony? I am assuming it looks great hence why I am after one. The specs look pretty good as well.

Damn - shame you're so far away as I would love to try one of those ... I would like to be able to use a small hard disc (happy to use an 500Gb SSD drive to avoid vibration issues if required but have some "automotive" drives available) via USB rather than a poxy little iPod!

I am assuming mine is that model. It looks like it. It has built in mobile phone hands free, but that only seems to work if you have the stereo switched on.
Frankly I don't use the stereo much,if at all, so I will see if I can find the USB cable and the manual (got that on the computer), and pull it out of the car and post it to you to try. Then you can either keep it or send it on to Matt to try. I haven't even switched it on in the last six weeks.

Anyone recommend a model with DAB? Don't worry, as DAB works well where I live, I have it in my bmw and find I spend most of the time listening to 6 Music (DAB only).
