Just had an email from Nigel Webb confirming both his C-type and his Le Mans winning D-type will be racing on the Saturday morning. In other words, a must for us oldies to watch!

Usually the race is at 11am on the Saturday, but I don't have the programme in front of me to confirm.

Tony, I saw the race and was sad to see Nigel's D Type retire. Do we know what happened to it?

Such a shame as it was putting up a great fight.

Head gasket failure - same as the problems in qualifying when it sounded as if it had four cylinders. I'll put up some photos when I have time.

Cheers Tony.

Thanks for the invite to Classic by the way, just trying to sort out the pink pass! wink

Also waiting on Dad to get the 120 FHC trimmed, as that is the planned weapon of choice for the trip.
Feel free to give him a hard time over it. (I am)

David, you know that where your Dad is concerned the journey is far more important than the arrival. I think it is only about 40 years since he started on the XK120? So another few years won't hurt!

Correction; Nigel has just emailed me and apparently the bloody rotor arm on the D-type broke after one lap.
