Im wondering if/when S prices will start to go up (if ever) assuming that prices going up would be a natural progression after they stabilise... and I seem to remember hearing prices were or would be stabilising in the near future(?) given that the cars are rare... or is this banter just relating to the V8S?

seriously, I think they have remained stable for about the past 4 years - ie since I started looking. Prices seemed to have remained static. IMO the price will remain static unless the lower priced chims start pushing around £8k (some tatty/HPI listed ones are already) and then it will push the S prices down. However, chim prices seem to have also remained pretty static ove rthe last 4 years, albeit the older ones perhaps dropping slightly.

I see your point. I remember 8 weeks ago, reading the forums, and feeling that everything 1 year ago seemed to be 1k more than it was now. What you say makes sense.

Who cares? No plans to sell mine. I like driving it to much.

All being well will see you tomorrow at the Grasshopper.

I have noticed in the height of the summer a lot of Ss on sale on Pistonheads were circa £5 - 6 k .... now they seem more £6 - 7k... just an observation....

But I guess you get what you pay for... a wreck or a good one

i have looked on autotrader site a few times in last 6 months & prices there are even higher, so if anyone is thinking of selling (for some bizzaar reason???) do it on there.

i'm still getting used to mine after nearly a year so mine aint going nowhere!!

I think the fact we all decided to sell after getting our summer jollies forced the market to be a buyer's one, rather than the seller's one it is normally.

Saying that, most I spoke to got their money back or didn't make a loss on their purchase price, so we can't complain

Bought for 6700 and sold after 2 years for 7250.

That helps to offset the cost of the chassis and clutch repairs a bit!

Personally, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask more for a car after you have lavished, time, money and love upon it over a period of time.

I'd certainly want more for mine than I paid for it as it need work when I bought it and it will change a fair bit more over time to become smarter and probably a little more unique. Why shouldn't I expect more money for it one day?

Nowhere near what I've spent on it of course....
