I've never been, I've never seen a lineup I liked enough to pay and travel for, I can't think of a worse way to enjoy music than standing in a field (I prefer small-medium venues, which is thankfully the sort of venues my favourite bands tend to play) and I've liked the lineups even less since the people who organise the festival admitted they were taking it in a hard rock direction to increase ticket sales.
Yep, going for the full 5 days, second year doing so.
The headliners aren't really what I'm looking forward to (although I reckon Rammstein and Slipknot will be a spectacle to see) for me it's the likes of the Hives and Hardcore Superstar that I'm excited to see the most.
It's also great fun in the campsite, just hoping the weather won't be as s
te as last year!

I went last year for the first time since AC/DC in 1991 - was a great week-end, despite the weather on the Friday. The bands this year (especially the headliners) are less to my liking but hoping to be pleasantly surprised. But Motorhead are just the cat's cock and so looking forward to seeing them again. Well, it's nearly a week since the festival. Anyone got any opinions good or bad?
I loved it, especially after being a bit unsure of the line up. Didn't see any of the mainstage headliners as each time I preferred the lower headliners.
The weather pretty much held up which was great.
My highlight - The Hives. What a show!

I completely concur re. The Hives! I saw the first two Iron Maiden numbers from miles away and though 'meh'! Hives were excellent from start to finish. Motorhead were absolutely excellent as ever (but what sort of state is 'Filthy Animal' Phil Taylor in these days?!). Mastodon were good and The Sword were also excellent. Was very pleasantly surprised by the 'new' Alice In Chains line-up (and songs) too. Didn't think much of the Queens Of The Stoneage at all though.I loved it, especially after being a bit unsure of the line up. Ah I missed Motorhead for Thunder who were excellent. I enjoyed Mastodon too but they should have been in one of the tents for sound quality purposes. I would disagree with Queens, really enjoyed them. Did you see Limp Bizkit? They did a pretty excellent version of Killing in the name! Zico Chain also really impressed me on the Friday after expecting not much!
Did you think that the sound was fairly poor on occasion?

Oh yes Limp Bizkit played 'Break Stuff', they surprisingly didn't play any new songs at all. I think the most recent song they played was their cover of 'Behind Blue Eyes'. Was disappointing to see a sea of people leaving at the hint of fire from Rammstein, there was some banter from Fred and Wes about that though!

I don't think that Donnington (either the village or the race track) will be complaining about it!
Did anyone see Akord? Ne of my friends bands that managed to play the red bull stage. On the way to an interview they ended up speaking to phil Anselmo, they skipped the interview and went to play on the main stage with Down! Pretty awesome.
I didn't get to go sadly as all my mates were skins, bit annoyed!
