Kind of intermittent, only at moderate speeds over rough surfaces.

Very odd. Just started today. Any ideas?

Was your wife / girlfriend / random lady of your short duration employ with you at the time?

Was it accompanied on your part by a breathless feeling and the need to close your eyes?

Exhaust manifold at the point where the cylinder branches meet might be flexing over bumps and exposing the crack then blowing?

Sounds reasonable. Will get it looked at tomorrow. Good local exhaust builder near my work, fortunatel. Hopefully just a bit of welding required.

St Albans.

They are good and will do work at short notice. Not too familiar with TVRs but they work on mine.

That fix is done by cutting the large tube open as if you had sawed across close to the 4>1 union, welding up the 4>1 union from the inside, and then re-attaching the two halves to each other with a weld. Cost me £100 to get both sides done a few months ago. Common blowing point, and easy to determine where the blow is with a thin piece of rubber tube, one end in your ear, the other end close to the exhaust, and engine running.

Cool, thanks. They should be able to do that in no time.
