Has anyone else experienced the paint from the wing mirror support flaking off? The car is an '09 V8 Vantage.

Its been covered lots of times on here. only remedy for a V8V is to take them off clean the oxidization up and repaint them.

Probably the majority of owners with 06/07/08 & 09 models.

MY10 to follow in due course.

I had it on mine - crap materials and paint finishing.

Go in to Aston (a) polite (b) civilised and (c) hard and they should at the very least replace but you pay for fitting

Someone here (at least one) did redo himself without removing and from memory looked good.

My car recently was in for a few bits at the dealers. One of my mirror mounts had a small bit flacking off. I enquired over the phone if this was covered by warranty. I know from here there have been mixed results on this.

I received a call back later telling me that Aston wouldn’t cover it. However, the advisor told me their smart repair guy can fix it for £80. It thought why not, bound to be better that what is was.

When the car was delivered back to me. The mirror mount looked suspiciously new, either that or this guy is a miracle worker.

Either way, for £80 I’m happy.

Thanks for posting a pic, very useful to see the problem.
I did not realise it could be that bad.
As you may know there are a lot of posts on paint problems on this forum.
The car I purchased had a tiny bit of bubbling around the door keyhole that was fixed by the dealer f.o.c.at time of purchase.
It was only because I had read about this problem on PH that I looked so carefully.

If you want the mirror power fold arm replaced brand new by Aston, it will cost about £550 including VAT and fitting. Thought that I would mention it.

I'm sorry to inform you that Yeti's penchant for Kentucky family buckets as a prelude to fish & chips followed by calamari, more chips followed up with steak and chips have taken their toll.
Here's a more recent picture
