Normal chain stuff in the high street...same old same old kinda thing.

Depending on your budget, if you want a more one-off experience at an independent restaurant, then I recommend the Black Rat in Chesil Street (but you need to phone and book right now) or the Old Chesil Rectory, in the same street.

On an Asian theme, you could choose one of the 3 restaurants owned by a local chap which are all good - the Bengal Sage in St. George's Street (curry), the Kyoto Kitchen in Parchment Street (Japanese and sushi) or the Bangkok Brasserie in Jewry Street (Thai).

Raymond Blanc also has the 'Brasserie Blanc' in Jewry Street, also nice.

Or at the top end of cost is the Hotel du Vin in Southgate Street, but it's a bit posh and that...

Nice one. Went there for my Birthday recently, and had the rabbit, which was exquisite.

The staff were all so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely venue too.

Enjoy biggrin
