Fuel tank composition

Does anybody know what metal the fuel tank in a 1999 Chim is made of?

I've been told on one hand that it's "alloy" (ie aluminium apparently) and on the other hand that it's galvanised steel.

It's aluminium. Just take a magnet and see, if it sticks to it

I have seen both ally and steel on the same year cars so its not a certainty the ally one is obvious because its bare.

What colour is it? If its an aluminum tank it'll be bare un painted under the carpet and if its a steel one it'll be just painted black, mines a 99 model and its steel plus there's no galvanizing either.
