Upgrade of old Alpine Radio to DAB

Stupidly about 5 years ago I took the old 1990's Alpine out of the XJ12 and fitted a cheap CD slot Pioneer, you know one of those £49'00 jobs from Halfords... Now I want to re-fit the Alpine, but I want it to have DAB and also a Ipod connection. Its a cassette deck and I'm wondering if its at all possible.. any suggestions?
Secondly I would rather re-fit the original Jaguar Clarion, if I could find one...

Alpine make a dab adapter like the pure system called ezi-dab, I think it is around £200.

I bought an MP3-to-cassette adapter, which was previously sold as a Discman-to-cassette adapter. The cassette bit slots into the head unit and has a trailing 3.5mm plug for an MP3 headphone socket. Add to that a portable DAB radio (mine was £25 in the Comet sale) and that should do the trick, though despite buying the bits a few years back I haven't tried mine yet. I've seen DAB adapters that basically re-transmit the signal on FM but they looked quite cumbersome.

Another thing I saw on a forum recently, someone had acquired a radio that had been modified for MP3 conenction. It had a trailing DIN socket which basically broke into the connection from tuner to amp internally, to use the radio a special link plug was inserted that re-made the connections, or to connect the external device you'd use a cable which sticks the signal into the radio amp. (Sorry, explanation makes it sound more complex than necessary).
