Le mans breakdown cover
Discussion
Need to get some breakdown cover for trev in the very unlikely event that he lets me down on the way to and from le mans
Require 5 day cover in europe, would like to get in the cover the car recovered to home rather than just dumped at the nearest garage.
He is just over 15 years old. Where green flags cut off is.
Any recommendations or prices youve had much appreciated.
Thanks Neil (Chimaera 450)

Check out Green Flag Short Term European Cover - You need to call them rather than online

They do cover TVRs older than 15 years old - mine is a Chimp 4L 94 plate.
Quoted 73.10 from 15th June to 25th June so fairly cheap, obviously could be alot lower if just going Thursday to Sunday.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone have contact phone number for ADAC. It seems that you can't join on-line with a UK address.
The number that they have on the website looks like a German premium number 01805 101112 I have tried this prefixing it with +49 0049 and omitting the leading zero without success.
How have others managed to join ADAC?

The number for ADAC should work - 0049 1805 10 11 12
I had trouble paying for my renewal this year, but an email to service@adac.de sorted it out. You could drop them an email to call you. They are very helpful.
Basically, you can only pay via card so they email a form so you can print, complete credit card details, then fax to them for payment. They followed up with a confirmation email to confirm payment made.
Here are the details for "Member Services", if you have no joy with the above:

That's great. Thank you. They said they would post a form to me to make payment, however, I was covered from tomorrow regardless! As you say, they were very helpful. I hope the same is true should I need to call on them for breakdown assistance.I had trouble paying for my renewal this year, but an email to service@adac.de sorted it out. Have used the AA in the past and frankly was less than impressed when I had to use them.
I now use this lot

Cheers. Just called the AA. Apparently, as I've been a member for 5yrs, this gives me free "Gold" membership which comes with 48h free Europe cover. As I'm setting off tonight and back on Tues night, they wanted to charge me for 6d @ £65 (would have been £95 but they'd deducted the 'free' days).I now use this lot

To hell with that. Your link did it for £21. And took PayPal. The AA can go
themselves when my renewal comes up - no free Euro AND with the amount I pay for our combined cover, trying to get that much out of me for one week.paulg390 said:
A bit late for the OP but I just used Qdos as the AA came in at near £90. Qdos want less than £20. Will be interesting to see what happens if I need to use them !
Ditto, got seven days' cover on my 13-year-old E46 for £21.50. That includes onward travel, accommodation, the works - and a nice touch is that it also covers the seven days before I leave, so that if the car lets me down before zero hour, they'll try and sort that too.Apparently a lot of LM goers with QDOS.
Word of warning about using the RAC. I took out their so-called 'Comprehensive European Cover' in 2009, because they told me 'if you have a problem on your return journey, we'll take you straight to your port - we don't try to fix it, we'll recover you immediately, so you don't miss your ferry'. Well they DIDN'T. I had all sorts of problems because firstly I got a puncture and they said they're 'NOT' covered! Having no spare or space-saver in the TVR, I temporarily fixed it with tyre weld, but had to stop 15 miles on because the side wall was about to blowout. They refused to recover me and wanted to send a patrol van out to determine the problem - an utterly pointless exercise and waste of precious time, as I knew exactly what the issue was! They then said they'd try and get a new tyre to me instead - yeah right - 8.00pm Sunday night in the French countryside (let alone my tyres were specialist 24hr order only). As It was looking now likely that they were going to make me miss my 11.00pm ferry from Caen, they said they would take me, not my car, to the nearest town and that's all. They refused to even phone a local recovery firm for me, (the very same one that they would use)despite me offering to pay then and there with my card over the phone! After a nightmare of an hour arguing and pleading on the phone, they finally conceded, taking £430 off me in the process before phoning the recovery firm. The same issued happened again when I arrived back to the UK. They said they have to try to get a tyre first, and if, after 4-5 hours being stranded at the roadside they couldn't get one, then and only then would they recover me ( 4-5 hours is considered 'a reasonable amount of time to wait') - 'punctures were actually covered in the UK! So being totally fed up, I paid another recover firm to take me home from Portsmouth! I then had a couple of months battle, but eventually got all my money back, plus the cost of the policy they'd sold me.
