I had some time this afternoon to have a look and see if I could sort out my cutting put issue.
Went out to fire it up so I could turn her around so I can get to the LH side of the car (not a lot of space on my drive) and get at the inline filter and possibly have a look at the fuel pump/accumulator.
Nothing, car is dead as a doornail, it looks like I left the ignition on the other day when I was faffing, and of course it is parked nose first up the drive.
I was so annoyed that I just left it alone, didnt want to make things worse whilst I was grumpy.
I think my extra long heavy duty jump leads should just about reach but of course my dailys battery and the wedge battery are on opposite sides of the car just to make things a bit harder lol

As I said on my last "oh fk its broken" post I have been looking forwards to getting a wedge for so long and to have one that I cant use is just soul destroying.

When I get back from LeMans I will order a new fuel filter, charge the battery, and make sure I have no leaks on the air inlet (when I checked one of the jubilee clips was a bit loose so I may have had a bit of an air leak there) and go from there.

My daughter calls her Tasmin (original I know but thats what it says on the side)
I cant repeat what I called her but I used a lot of the words you blanked out in your post.

Trust me mate..I wanted a wedge forever and as the people on this forum will vouch for me..I lost it loads of times, In fact i cant recall swearing so much at anything else...I know exactly how frustrating it is..Mine was stuck on my mates drive for 5 months and i used to go round there every friday night for a game of poker..Sometimes i couldnt bear to look!!..I have had more then my share of troubles..Thats why not having her for nearly 4 weeks now is painfull but worth it in the end..Even if i only managed to drive it one day in a month before it broke down it made me feel like the rest of the month didnt matter..All was forgiven..You will get there..Its taken me nearly three years to get delilah were she is now and even then there are still a few things to be sorted...Keep the cool and keep the faith..The TVR gods will look upon you and waver your fears..Cheers...Ziga

I was talking to Nursy about the Silver Scream Machine last night... I'm getting too old for this lying on the floor getting muck in my eyes nonsense (counting the months till the big one eek) so she suggested I sell and buy something else (on pain of a good kicking if I dare to hehe ).
I can almost see the sense in it... but after almost 13 years I've been with this car longer than I've been with any woman (and probably seen more 'down below' whistle), I bought my first Tasmin because I wanted a hobby, not because I wanted a fast car or had issues in the dingly-dangly department.

I bought the Tas as a scruffy 16-year-old and soon had to replace the engine, repair some severely monkeyed sill tubes, find an original driver's seat and have the wheels refurbed, but I learnt that car inside out: it only ever broke down in such a way that I had to have it towed once, and that was a siezed fuel pump caused by a monster pothole. I even spent £800 having it resprayed, it looked beautiful. It's out there still, as a racecar in the TVR Challenge, ANOTHER 16 -dammit, 17- years later.

The 390SE was meant to be my car. It was offered for sale on the old Domino/Egroups forum and I snapped the guy's hand off. Danny Hoffman here was all set to go and check it out for me but for whatever reason the owner decided to flog it back to the dealer from whom he bought it - and that's where I found it, quite by chance, a week later. In the almost-13 years I've had it I have spent something like £3200 on parts and materials - to put that in context I have mates who have lost more than that in depreciation just by driving their car off a forecourt. I have easily spent more time under the car than driving it and I'll tell you something: when I'm lying there with oil up my sleeve and rust flakes in my eye, I wriggle over to the point where I can look up under the nose and see, about where the TVR logo sits, the signatures of the three fellas who laid-up the fibreglass shell and it reminds me why I DON'T drive some mass-produced tin box with any amount of horsepower or bar-bragging brand name on it.

So that's it: my car is my hobby. I can shut the workshop door, walk away, come back when I'm in the mood. Nothing is so urgent it has to be done right now. I'm not one to offer advice (largely because I never listen when people give it to me biggrin) but if I may make so bold, treat your Wedge as a hobby, not a car, and you won't lose heart.

At the risk of sounding like a groupy now, ditto.
At 51 and 3/4 its probably an age thing . Wooly

Just a thought make sure the interior light is off at the switch as its a favourite issue on the Wedge and the cause of many disappointing morning turns of the key and well ............ nothing!!

The interior lights dont work, what position on the switch is off? just in case they are drawing current despite apperaing to be off.

For the 280 experts out there, is this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIR-OIL-FUEL-FILTER-SERV...

a suitable set of filters for my car?

And do I need a standard capri set of HT leads? or are they tvr specific?
I assume rotor arm and dizzy cap are standard capri

I had heard that, I was trying to avoid them, are the ones I linked to intermotor ?

Do you have any idea when it was last serviced pk?
I cant find a recent service in the documents you gave me.

The most recent one I can find is dated 10/1/11 so a bit of a while ago.

Depends on the light you have fitted but generally if you have a 3 position switch on the light then the centre position is off.

If in doubt take the bulb out
