It has been done before but is quite a bit of work.

The alternative is to speak to somebody like Adie Hawkins - I think he gets 230 to 275 BHP out of a normally aspirated boxer but bored out to 2 litres. remember to take your wallet because I suspect it will cost much more than £10K!

You could of course wait for the Porsche flat four turbo rumoured to be launched for the boxster as well.

Don't forget that Rudi Hruska who was responsible for much of the design of the alfasud (as well as the Tiger tank!) had worked at Porsche before working at Alfa so the origins of the Sud flat four could quite well have been inspired by that and even Suburu admitted using the Alfasud and Lancia flat fours as inspirations for the development of their flat four layout.

I seem to remember a few Supercharging kits for the Boxers back in the 80s but never Turbochargers.

The AHM engines are supercharged, BLS also did a supercharged 33 many years ago using the sprintex spiral supercharger- the layout of the engine certainly lends itself to supercharging, Autopoint (?) did a turbocharged 33 that ran in the alfa championship 4 or 5 years ago although I'm not sure that it was that reliable it did look fast, smoky, but fast. The big problem is that the exhaust system would need to be pretty trick but not impossible.
