Well, the long wait is over. The promise is kept and I can finally talk about the second of my TVRs.

I traded in my old Chimera against YDB, selected mainly for the fact I needed a car with a knackered engine, as I really wanted the V8 burble in a more modern TVR. After a few phone calls, I settled on an engine builder…
Here she is before work started.

I’ll get this out of the way now. There are lots of stories about this builder I didn’t know about, and I did have to wait an amazingly long time. The car isn’t perfect (final parts are being done now), and if I had my time again, I would probably choose a different route. This doesn’t stop me loving the car appreciating the good work that was done – it’s just a few finishing touches….

Right, back on with the story….

I had decided on the LS route (this is a Holden version of the LS2), as I wanted something reliable, easily tuned and fairly well bomb-proof with low servicing costs, as I want it as a track car. Well fast forward nearly two years, and after a few pics like this, she came home. Amazingly enough she was spotted on the first run home by a PH’er and a photo taken.

After an aborted trackday as a shake-down, (not my fault!), I decided that she really needed a few aero touches to make it perform better (the front), and look silly (the rear). So a quick trip to ReVerie in Colchester resulted in a custom carbon front splitter and the canards. The rear… I found a scrapper bootlid, and got the wing from a Japanese performance car breakers. A bit of fun later, and bingo! I have a perfect breakfast bar…

The final piece of the puzzle was the bodywork. I wanted a wrap to protect the car, as well as being removable…. Step forward KIK Customs, who took my idea and made it mental! I wanted the base colour to be close to TVR racing purple, and a nod to the BMW art car of Le Mans 2010…. In reflective tape. So they did this!

Night shot…

It went to Goodwood where it was spotted by a few PH’ers…

And hopefully this weekend it will be giving passenger rides at The Supercar Event (http://www.thesupercarevent.com/) . Hope to see you there! After that, it’s Le Mans… one extra sticker for it.

I thought you got a TVR to own a mental car, not to build one. Top work OP thumbup
