Standard Rover V8 ?

Would the Chim 4.0 carry off a standard Rover V8 or is it TVR'ed. I can see some pretty cheap brand new 4.0 lumps around and the bible does not seem to rate an enginer swap as too bad. Given the aux TVR bits would 'strap back on' is it really a simple option ?

From what i have seen, the 4.0 litre is basically a standard Rover 3.9 right down to the compression ratio.
The cam is different and ECU chip altered.

So, get a new short engine and you're laughing. But why would you want a new engine anyway, is yours shagged?

From what I've seen a lot of tiffs use a completely stock bottom end anyway. Some have valve cut-outs in the stock pistons which aren't needed when running 218 type cams. They sometimes have wire ringed heads and quite thick head gaskets with copper fire rings. Most work seems to be concentrated in the head porting department.
