Hi All

Couple of weeks ago i got new AP grooved discs and Pagid pads fitted. All good for a couple of hundred miles, now im getting some pretty bad vibration under braking. Sometimes it doesnt do it atall, and at other times its constant under braking.

I never had this problem before changing the brakes, But in recent months, i have noticed im driving the car harder than i ever have done.
Would it be safe to say its hub run out related? Whats the best way forward

Ive also noticed a slight squeek once per revolution of the wheel. any ideas?

Check your grooves aren't clogged with brake dust first.

The sensible thing would be to clock both sides of the discs and the face of the hub.

Is the squeak coming from the front or back?

If it is the back, could be the hub nuts that I had a problem with. Swapped them out for Porsche boxtser ones, problem solved.
Not sure if your brake judder would come from that too though?

the squeek is the runout... jack the wheels up and try find which one is slightly binding and thus causing the squeek, you can then resolve the issue.

I have a squeak on my rear wheel once per revolution, drivers side, what is this hub nut thing, im not technically minded on this.

Ive had the wheel off and checked things, seems like it is coming from the hub.

How can i sort this??

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Ollie, check how tight the hub nut is then Tighten a bit as they can come loose.

I've recorded a video cause its getting worse.

I have checked the wheel nuts and tightened them.

I can't see any thing loose.

Does anyone recognise this issue?

prob hub run out.
had it on my 400, you need to get the discs (even if renewing) skimmed on the car.
place in Brum did it. Fit some new quality pads and brakes perfect.

If was me to be on safe side if change hub bearing. And shoes that side. Then skim discs on the car for how much that costs. Strange old noise that

Discs are brand new though! Changing the bearing and the stub axle was on the list for when the uprated spindles are done.

Do you mean the wheel nuts or hub nuts?
Mine was making this sound for ages, and was getting worse. It turned out to be the Hub nuts.

Wheel nuts I checked.

Did you replace the hub nuts or just take out tighten etc?

Is it safe to keep using the car as it does not sound it?

If I need replacement ones where can I get them from?

Thanks

When one of my rear nuts came loose I changed the hub and bearing, the flange had worn very slightly causing a noise on wheel rotation. You couldn't feel any play but it was obviously not right once I took the hub apart.
