Hi everyone

I've recently moved from a Porsche 996 to an E92 M3. Really enjoying it, but want to get on track. It's a new car and is contract hire, so I can't take the risk of not insuring the car on track. Been quoted 1% plus 10% excess from a few insurers for one-off cover. This is too expensive on a recurring basis, so I've been looking for a combined road and track policy.

I did a search on the forum and there are a few good suggestions, however the companies seem to be limited to 2 seaters or perhaps 2+2s. Has anyone recently managed to get combined road and track cover for their E92 M3? Which companies are quoting for this risk?

cheers, Martin

I think you might find that upon reading your contract hire papers there will be a clause in it which specifically prohibits you from taking the car on a track.

Good call, though there is no specific mention of track days being prohibited; though racing or reward are. Checked this with the salesperson and the dealer principle at the supplying dealer and both confirmed that track days aren't excluded. Just need insurance.

I don't have a combined road and track insurance policy. However, I did get a quote from Competition Car Insurance which would include 5 track days. In my case it was cheaper to get a road policy, and a multiple track day policy from www.moris.co.UK. This worked for me as I knew the dates of the track days I was going to do.

+1 for a multi day policy from Morris. From memory you have to wait a day to get the quote through from an underwriter but it tends to be exceptional value compared to a single day policy. My previous car was ~£100 for one day and ~£120 for two!

Replied to the track day thread - I use Pace Ward for road and track cover on my e92. Similar costs to a normal road policy for me plus you pay £80 for each track day - also has cover for the Ring but not for tourist days.

Thanks Daz1001 and FuzzyDunlop, Moris seem to be very helpful. Will also look at this latest suggestion too.
