Self Employed sole trader in Kent... but I want to move to Scotland.

What (if any) self employment laws and regulations differ north of the border?

I think there is one law.

You must dye your hair ginger, drink Iron-Bru and hate the English. Any experts please correct me if I am wrong.

Virtually none hate "hate" the English - just because some don't support the English national team doesn't mean they are hated.

As for the rest of the stuff, that is law....along with deep frying everything you eat and you have to spend at least one weekend a year running around the hills in your kilt chasing the haggis whilst screaming ochh aye the noo, Johhny where's yer troosers.

Not all the English; just the webbed feet variety from the west country.

I beg your forgiveness oh colonial one. I am just amazed you found the time to pull yourself away from eating porridge to make the comment. Perhaps the moose loose aboot this hoose was playing and on the old gramophone and you had to get out of the room, this I would fully understand.

The Story of Scotland.

In the beginning when god was creating the world,he was sitting on a cloud, telling his pal the Arch Angel Gabriel what he planned for Scotland.

" Gabby" says he "I'm going to give this place high majestic mountains, purple glens, soaring eagles, streams laden with salmon, golden fields of barley from which a whisky coloured nectar can be made, green, lush, spectacular golf courses, coal in the ground, oil under the sea,...gas".

" Hold up! Hold up!" Interjected the bold Gabriel " Are you not being too generous to these Scots ? "

Back came the Almighty's reply

" Not really, wait until you see the neighbours I'm giving them !!! ".

Note: No offence meant.

The Story of Scotland.

In the beginning when god was creating the world,he was sitting on a cloud, telling his pal the Arch Angel Gabriel what he planned for Scotland.

" Gabby" says he "I'm going to give this place really small mountains, midgey infested glens, soaring eagles, streams laden with cars and ASDA trolleys salmon, golden fields of barley from which a piss coloured wife beater can be made, wind swept golf courses, domestic violence, deep fried mars bars,...did I mention the rain yet?".

" Hold up! Hold up!" Interjected the bold Gabriel " Are you not being too generous to these Scots ? "

Back came the Almighty's reply

" Not really, wait until you see the natives I am going to make live there. They are ginger, get sun burnt in the rain, nobody will be able to understand them and I will make them all have a burning desire to leave this place and live in England. But as a pay off I will let them bh and moan about the English and how wonderful Scotland is even though they can't be arsed to live there!!!!

And if they keep pissing me off I will curse them with the worst football teams in history".

Note: No offence meant.
