I've just ordered i Noble M400 for delivery next March, having previous owned a 200bhp Lotus Exige it seemed like natural progression and once i drove the M400 i had no option but to buy one!

I spoke to Elephant.co.uk, my current insurers and they have declined to insure it claiming they don't know what it is! So does anyone have any reccomendations of who to talk to and an idea of the costs more or less??

Also i've ordered the car in Titanium, does anyone have any pictures of an M400 in that colour?

There is a thread on here started by Simon from the factory asking about M400 insurers - he is in NZ at the moment I think but give him a call in a few who quoted the other customer he was helping out.

Don't know about the M400 but on other Nobles Tesco are one of the cheapest.

Agreed on Tesco. Most other companies you phone up and it is either not on the list or they ask you 50 times who the bloody manufacturer is. Phoned Tesco expecting the same response told the girl I had a Noble and she almost wet herself on the spot - cheapest quote and £ 500 cheaper than my Audi S4 ??? Go figure

My parents are insured with Tesco for around £800 with protected NCB. Car is garaged and has tracker fitted.

I have always found Tesco to be very cheap. I got an insurance group 17 car when I was 20 and they insured me for £1750 whereas EVERYONE else wanted upwards of £3800!

Tesco yes, great quotes but let me remind you - not for a second car as they won't take you NCB on your first motor into account!

Didnt you offer to take her out for a spin? (after she had dried herself off first of course)

That's a bit of a nightmare since the M400 will be a second car, any other suggestions?

Make it your first car. Sounds odd, but with most insurers you can elect which of the two cars you take the NCD on. Just pay full premium on the other one. far easier to do at the end of the year than mid-stream, but still possible.

Got mine through Privilege. Hopefully will have a bit more sensible quoting from next year tho as i'll be over 30.

I had to take my NCB on the Noble & pay the full monty on the other car. It's only an ageing Astra tho so it's pretty cheap anyway.!

So how does that work since Elephant insure the other car already (they used to insure my Exige but declined on the Noble) which is an Audi S8?

You'll have to check the full premium on each car & then work out which one to take the discount on. It's a bit of a pain, but thats insurance for you !!!

I'm in the same position having got the M400 on Friday - see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=26&h=&t=128728
for my solution.

BTW once the sun comes out again I'll take a pic of the M400 (in Viper Steel Grey) and make it available.

People, you should find previous posts on this subject here with the names and phone numbers of many brokers who are happy to apply your earned NCB to a second-car Noble (even if its used on a first car) - use the search facility - try "insurance"...

Thanks, i'll give competition car insurance a shout.

Pictures are a must, i'll look forward to them!!

BTW i did use the search engine but their were so little posts for M400 insurance brokers that i thought a post might reveal a few more hints & tips.

Rob, try looking for insurance as the keyword, Noble forum and all dates - returns truckloads of previous insurance threads!
