Part Life - Warranty / Wear and Tear
Discussion
How does one determine the difference between wear and tear and part failure?
We know mondial charge differently at set mileages as they expect the risk of part 'failure' to increase as the car covers more miles, quite right.
Unfortunately no guidance is publicly available (that I have seen) to the expectation of part life so your frankly reliant on your garages view whether its W&T or failure.
Does everyone here work on the assumption that unless the items are specifically identified as excluded on the warranty T&C then the parts must have failed? Then at what point does a 'failure' become W&T? When the car is > 100k as that is the warranty position for some items. If you then throw into the mix the way the car is driven then the mileage kinda becomes irrelevant and it's then purely guess work!
I've certainly paid up to have some items replaced as I'm told they were W&T and not claimable but I'm now questioning this as the warranty clearly states at a high level that these items are covered.
Any views?
