sorry as phase pointed out its a 45mm blended trumpet base that replaces the standard base and straight pipe trumpets as fitted by rover and therefore tvr, you can of course fit carbon and alloy trumpets of various diameters, but I chose to go this way after Jools posted a thread regarding it.Digger said:

Be more useful as a styling exercise if it wasn't hidden underneath the Plenum and not visible, though I'm tempted to leave it as an ornament in the living room and see if the wife complains 
It's purpose is to get rid of the cheap nasty steel tubes that were originally used for the trumpets, this should improve air flow into the inlet and can improve power.
Would help with other additional items like a 72mm plenum and dizzy less sparks.
