General wifi around and about

Not talking about around the track per se, but just wondered where I might be able to get free wifi in 'an emergency' (work-related) should push come to shove whilst I'm away - do the likes of McDonalds offer wifi?

Yes they do. McDo on the Mulsanne straight has free wifi. (well, at the cost of at least a Coke that is). Friends of mine have used the McWifi in the centre of town and they also offer it for free.

Edit: McDo at the Mulsanne straight is impossible to reach when there's racing go on, though.
But in another thread I've learned that all ACO enclosures offer wifi too.

This - and accessible easily by car during the race too, providing you know your way around the one-way and slip road system.

That said (and despite this being my umpteenth post on the subject - I don't work for Vodafone, honest), I shall be using Euro Traveller for £3 a day and abusing my home data allowance whilst sat in a camping chair trackside, a-thank-you.

Thanks guys. Hadn't thought of my phone as a personal hotspot - apparently O2 give me 15MB/day for £1.99 so should be enough to get me out of a hole (hopefully not needed at all!!)

You can then text moredata to 23336 for another 15MB if you need The text costs 8.5p though

If you're an aco member you can use their wifi free at their Dunlop Bridge enclosure (well you could last year - I'm hoping you can this year).
