Lee filter system

I've got a sneaking suspicion I've asked this before but I never quite got my head around it so apologies if I'm repeating myself.
I'm looking to get myself sorted out with a set of Lee ND Grads and eventually a Big Stopper to use with (primarily) my Tokina 11-16mm.
1. For landscape photography (Lake District/Highlands etc) do I want hard or soft edged grads?
2. Will I get away with (short term) stacking the filter kit on top of the screw in CPL I've got?
3. What size of filters will I need - anything special because it's a UWA?
4. Does the list below cover the basic items I'd need - and will they work with stacking the filters on a UWA or do I need something different?

And lastly money is going to be an issue so unless I can pick up a deal second hand I won't be buying several sets of grads at once. In order to make life easier in PP and open my creative options up which grads should I aim to get first?

The width of the filters in the system you've liked to is 100mm, so any lens with a smaller front element than that should be ok and the wide angle adaptor means that the filter is held closer to the lens to avoid light getting by the edge.
I'm in the same position as you - just starting. I've recently got the DSLR kit, which includes an ND glass filter and an ND hard grad (from here - which are seemed like the best prices I could find).

1) I much prefer hard edged, I have both but don't use the soft that often.
2) Probably not at the wide end of you 11 to 16, don't forget CPL use on ultrawides can be an issue, the field of view is so wide that the levels of polarisation will change across the image, usually this manifests itself as a dark coloured bulge in your skies, and it would be a real task to sort out in PP.
3) 100mm Filters, eg Lee, will be fine.
4) That is all you need, plus the filters of course!
5) I'd get a 3 stop hard, and possibly a 2 stop, as a starter.
