ok as my other recent threads can some one PLEASE explain ??? I canr believe this .. ok Monday start car at 0815 drive ten mins short trip stop car, may use her at 1300 for another ten mins or may not !!! start car at 1700 hrs drive home ten mins all runs perfect no hint of limp mode !!! go out for a drive at 1800 hrs straight into limp mode for rest of the evening, next day as above wed as above thurs as above frid as above ..... now I cannot see or believe how the car reacts to the hour every day!!! fault is same time every day cant get my head round this views please for those not read other threads its a 2010 focus 2.0 diesel I know short runs are a pain but issues on the hour ???? some thing strange HELP LOL

Don't know much about diesels, but it sounds like this DPF thing getting clogged that they have nowadays - and presumably the computer shuts down to limp mode. And if it didn't doubtless it would eventually become completely clogged and limp mode would seem like a luxury!

As for this economy thing with diesels, I had a work company 1.7 one for a while, and kept records of mileage and fuel used (like I do with all my cars). The following company petrol job (with a slightly larger engine 1.8) was more economical!! It seemed to me that it was the fuel price difference at the time which was the advantage. But things have changed on the fuel price front since then. And now they have this DPF - wouldn't touch one.
