The 400's been up on the ramps this morning; a couple of minor advisories, a pair of headlight pods that have gone nuts (relay pulled) and an overlooked non functional fog light "you don't drive it in the fog do you ?"
Had a look while she was on the ramp and the chassis is looking pretty good, a few oil leaks (or "chassis anti rust system" as I called them..) in general look pretty good and I have a ticket and I'll defiantly be using that garage again !
Need to make a decision on those rims though don't think the rubber will last another 12m....

Hi Richard,
Assuming my battle with the spaghetti in the passenger foot well goes OK I've not got anything planned for Saturday and Sue is at work so I could make it if you want another BBW I have got the daughter for the weekend though but maybe she can help out with something ?
The TVR wiring is completely nuts, for some unfathomable reason the fog light is powered by the pod motor control circuit and It looks like a combination of my reconfiguration to work the MR2 motors and the MOT tester switching on the fog has caused some problem. By taking the fog lamp fuse out the pod motors have stopped their crazy winking routine so I'm now re-wiring the fog light to take it's feed from the side light feed (as is usual) at least it explains the pod problem and the non working fog light....

Hi
Well num 1 and the SEAC both passed there MOT's today.
The SEAC had one advisory which is a small oil leak from the PAS. Quike nip up of the pipe and she will be fixed.
Num 1 also had 1 advisory.
The Battery is not straped in well enough.
Yes it's not, I can't arguew about that.
But I would like to see the battery get out of the battery hole. If the car was to turn over it could not come out, if you brake hard it can't move. The only way it can come out is if the side of the car had been ripped out, and then a strap would not hold it in either!
Well that's five cars MOT this year with another two to do before the Fest!

Hmm leaky rack, do they "all do that" !
Only when the seals are starting to fail..If its a small leak then you can use some stop leak PAS fluid..When mine was leaking it leaked from one end and use to fill up the gaiter..Which i realised when i popped off the cable tie to have a look..NOT a good idea..

A Rack can also leak for the pipe connections and most are just that!
Usualy a tighten of the connections will do!

I've never had an advisory on the battery strap (usually disintegrated).
The one time I needed it, when I wrote off my white wedge, a concrete fence post hit the wing next to the battery, smashing it. But it still didn't come out of the hole despite there being no strap!
In fact the car still started a half hour later (I had to drive it to the edge of the field as the winch rope wasn't long enough....)
