CLK Cabriolet Mirror Boss

Pleaseeeee can somebody help me?
I've recently bought a W208 CLK Cab. It looks like the previous owner had a replacement windscreen fitted but for some reason the replacement screen didn't come with the required mirror boss for me to attach the rear view mirror. I have tried everywhere but cannot buy one of these mirror bosses!! Everybody tells me the same thing "You have to buy a new windscreen as you can't get them off the screen" but if that's the case why are there sellers on e-bay selling mirror boss removal tools?!?!!?
Please can somebody help me?
