Have indadvertedly cut mine; anyone know of a source for a new one?

I am thinking the pink plastic strip that carries 5 flat wires.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Rich. You did me a favour some time back. If it can reconnected electrically just pop over and we will have a go. I have plenty of solder, wire etc.

Thanks but not sure its just a solder thing. The connector is a sort of 'crimp' thing, I've got it apart but the teeth that bite into the ribbon don't want to go back in.

I have found a place to buy them but the company wants to charge me £6.95 for postage - it must weigh all of 5g, so I am now annoyed with them. Especially as I discovered they are marking up Leven accessories by about 25%.

I might see if Maplin sell the connector - see below, photo not from the above website

So the options are:

1. Pay specialist £20 for the honour of one
2. Get local electrical suppliers to give you a 5-way small Molex connector wire for £3.99. Try and get one with two ends, or get 2 and join them together.

These may be the right spacing you'll have to check

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.js...

pins

http://cpc.farnell.com/multicomp/2226tg/crimp-term...

You'll have to buy loads more than you need but under £6 and free p&p

Then just get 5 lengths of thin wire, solder the pins on if you don't have a proper crimp tool prob be alot more robust too.

I went down the electrical suppliers. I now have a 5-wire bundle which is easier to manipulate / position than the original plastic strip.
