...has been chasing something in his sleep for the last hour. He's lying on the settee with all legs stuck out over the edge and been moving at a fast trot all that time.

Whatever it was, it was tasty when he caught it; He's licking his lips now. I'm guessing wild boar. He's always been partial to pork.

...and come morning he'll be wanting to go out for a long walk.

One of our dogs used to chase rabbits in her sleep. Once, she yelped so loudly she woke herself up! You could see the disappointment on her face that there weren't any rabbits in the front room!

They are funny when they do that kind of thing. One of ours often wags his tail in his sleep, would love to know what he is dreaming of.
