Transferable skills form the motortrade to a proper career?

Hi,
I am currently working for a Comerical vehicle main dealer on the service reception side and have scince I was a 13 year old saturday lad worked in the motor trade from Mechanic to a Car Warranty claims manager to motorfactors group warranty manager and Workshop controller
The reason for wanting to change is very low wages to long hours. I have been in work now for 12days straight doing 8-10.5 hour days for no overtime and just time in lieu. This is the main factor in wishing to change.
can any one suggest anything, I am not adverse to taking a junior position paying cica 15K (not a huge wage drop tbh.) as long there is a chance to develop. I require an office job as I smashed myself up and this is stopping me just going back to the spanners full time.

Have you thought about applying for some other customer service type jobs?
More specifically given your background I would have thought you'd be in a good position to bring a wealth of experience to a Car leasing firm, or something in fleet management or along those lines. That's assuming of course that you wish to stay within the motor trade type areas. You'll be office based and working regular 9-5ish hours at least.
Depends how open to change you are really. My other suggestion which would tick the development box would be apply for jobs at your local universities. They're often keen to develop you as an employee and most of the time how far you want to go depends how much you want to apply yourself (and experience obviously). Depending on their policy you may also be eligible to discounts on courses they run. You might see something that catches your eye and want to do.
I joined a university 8 months ago coming from a mostly customer service background, banks, call centres etc in a right at the bottom administrative role. I'm starting an accounting course in September through the university that runs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon/late evenings, and while I've unfortunately not been there long enough to get a discount (Fall one month short of required service, but rules is rules).
I've got full support from my manager to take the course and we're going to arrange days that I start earlier and finish later to enable me to take the afternoons off to go to classes and still fulfil my contracted hours, even though they aren't even relevant to my current role!
