E46 m3 smg non starting

Hi all new to the. Forum but might have some help with inter problem starting m3 e46 smg had this prob with mine put key in turn key with foot on break and nothing keep turning key back and forth and eventually it fires up no fault codes so changed battery starter motor but still problem so managed to get hold of m tech these guys are hard to find as usually only one in each bmw dealership he said the module in the keys often go wrong and never try to remove the battery from it as it receives charge when the car is running so opened car with key no 1 started with spare left it in there to charge with engine on and so far touch wood car starts every time first time so before taking it down to the dealer and spending £110.00 on a battery or £400.00 on a starter give this ago its worked for me so far but will let all know if it doesn't hope this helps I'v seen a lot of threads with this kinda problem

Welcome to PH.

I've seen this before and it's usually been something as simple as the bonnet sensor (it won't start if it doesn't think it's closed I think). Slam it shut to make sure, see if things improve.

Got a spare key you can use?

Thanks mate I'v narrowed it down to the keys they do suffer with the module in the key fob not holding charge so the m tech man said to use spare key and so far it starts first time just hope this helps others
