How to rehome a French Lop

Due to an upcoming move of over 600 miles, we have taken the decision to rehome our French Lop.

We have tried advertising him on various sites, but had no luck, luckily we have a few months so no major rush.

It's not about the money, it's about finding a good home, all the people so far want a 5 quid bunny, and don't appreciate that he is over 13lb and needs 6 square foot minimum living area, plus a run, or as we have, a secure back garden that he has the free run of.

How would you go about rehoming him, he has had his injections and has loads of paperwork, so people should know we are serious owners, if we find a good new owner.

Try your vets? they may know of good rabbit owners who would be willing to take him on. Otherwise a local rabbit rescue may be needed.

Is there no way you could take him? I know 600 miles is a long way but if you are driving he may well cope with the travel if bedded down properly. Obviously I don't know what you're moving to and appreciate it may not be suitable, but if it is just the journey it could be done, The French lops I've known tend to be quite chilled if they feel safe but again I appreciate I don't know your bunny and it may not be a feasible option.

Rabbits travel very well, I regularly take mine to shows in Harrogate which is a fair old journey,
Plenty of hay and they'll
Be snoozing all the way.

Why can`t you take him with you? When I left the UK and moved to Illinois I took the two rabbits and Greyhound with me on the 4000 mile journey.
