Recently purchased my new playtoy!
Proud owner of Chim 4.0. We have now had it 10 wks and already managed to clock up 4,000 miles.
Just got back from short break in Holland, travelling up from Calais to the north of Holland. Despite TVR gossip, we were averaging just over 300 miles to a tank of fuel. The weather was bloody awful as it rained continuously and we did not spring a leak.
Our thanks go to Martin & John at Racing Green for their support and an emergency pack of parts (just in case!!!) Luckily we did not have to peek into our emergency goodie bag despite all the negative rumours which come along with owning a TVR.
Love it to bits with a permanent smile engraved on my face!!

Good for you! In most cases I think the key to having a reliable Chim is to use the thing - something you obviously have no problem with. Did you get much of a reaction to your p&j whilst over there? I hope to travel through Holland next year and would be interested to learn whether TVR's are widely known over there.

Couldn't agree more. Use mine as often as poss and never had an engine failure in 35k miles (now on 99.5k miles!) Only problems I've had are general wear and tear such as drivetrain etc, which is to be expected from any car really!
A lesson I think everyone who's thinking of lying up their Tivs for the winter could learn from!!

I suppose the reactions will have been as good as the Dutch TVR's get while driving the country. If you know about the yearly Zolder meeting, you know enough about our interest for TVR's. Though they are harder to find here than in the UK (LHD driven cars were not TVR's priority over the years, but who knows what is going to happen).
I see from your profile that you live in Colchester. I suppose you will travel from Harwich to Hook of Holland than. Let us know when and maybe I can give you a TVR welcome. I live close to the harbour and travel regularly to Colchester/Ipswich with or without the TVR (depending on the payload to be brought back).
