Had my first "problem" in ages yesterday. I went to plug in my Sat Nav power lead and the cigarettle lighter socket fell into the door..

I assume the guys working at TVR either had very small arms or there was some child labour going on there as those door panels are harder to get off than on the S.

Fortunately it gave me an opportunity to grease the window runner and now my driver's window zips up and down as quickly as the passenger side so it wasn't a total waste LOL.

I wish I'd had some wingnuts at home though - maybe next time.

There is a good write up of how to remove the doorcard here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=127...

basically it's remove the speaker and then prepare for pain... Slip your arm inside, undo the 3 (or 4 depending on age of car) nuts (10mm spanner required) and then pop the vinyl part off.

Reconnect the centre wire and re-screw the mount... reverse the removal process and job's a good un.

Took me about 45 mins all in..

You could fit one of these and leave it in the glove compartment ..

I fitted one similar, lays just in front of the window switches.
