Why are more people not playing this?!!!
I downloaded the demo on Monday and it has stolen my life, even drawing my attention away from GTA V...
The demo gives you a really good grasp of the game and is a great taster for the full game. I bought the full game last night and it just seems to get better and better.
The online 4 way co-op is brilliant. I have never played a game online before where everybody is so geared towards teamwork and actually tries to win. I have yet to play a heist online where somebody is being a t
t.
For those that haven't seen it, check out some youtube videos but I'll give a brief overview here:
Basically the game is about 4 bank robbers who commit heists for money. Each heist requires you to 'case' (read scope out and plan) and then work out the best way to rob the place. Most jobs can be completed using stealth, brute force or a combination of both.
You need to collect equipment to pull off the job, take hostages, take out security guards, monitor the drilling equipment, hold off waves of police/swat/FBI if you trigger the alarm, bag the money and then try to escape...
At the end of each mission you get cash, which is used to buy weapons, modify them, buy armour, buy masks and customise them. You acrue experience which is used to unlock weapons and skill points to unlock 4 different tech trees.
There is a lot of stuff to this game considering it isn't an AAA release, but my God is it addictive. The demo is available on Xbox and PSN+. Be aware that any exp you get in the demo doesn't carry over if you buy the full game.
It's definitley worth checking out some videos and reviews. If anybody plays on Xbox, add me - STARGATER3
ETA - For those that play GTA V, you will love this if you liked the heist missions. It's a similar concept, but much more indepth.

Just bought it on Steam, good fun but no one seems keen on scoping anything out.
Just been doing my best Rambo impression all evening!
Stealth is very difficult especially if you don't have the right crew/skills. Just been doing my best Rambo impression all evening!
Not understanding the game properly I went for the enforcer tree. That's fine if you want the Rambo approach but if you want to stealth it you're buggered. Re-speccing costs an absolute fortune ad as I don't play enough to be in-game rich I just can't afford it.
My only complaint is that you can't have multiple guys so you can have a stealth guy, Rambo guy....etc.
That makes it sound like the game or that I don't enjoy playing which is not true. It is an excellent game and I still love playing almost a year later.
got it a couple of days back, as i've got some free time on my hands at the mo.
i'm not normally any good at the shooting games, but my brother in law talked me into this so we can play it online.
tried it on my own and was rubbish, but last night had a go with him, and two of his mates and really started getting it
much better as they've played it abit, so helped us out and working as a team and putting some thought into it really makes a difference.

Ditto, found some guys tonight that I did some of the harder missions with where teamwork was everything.i'm not normally any good at the shooting games, but my brother in law talked me into this so we can play it online.

i've found that on other games aswell recently, ref the chat thing.
only just got back online after a long break, and most are in their own chat these days.
lucky, there have been 4 of us on payday2, so it works talking together, and trying to case the jobs out 1st.
saying that, last night we did get stuffed on the, 'steal 4 paintings mission'

Anyone still playing this?
I'm now 3 for 3, having played this on PS3, Xbox360 and now PC. Still love it.
I haven't played in a good 6-8 months, but the latest updates have completely changed the game. Not sure if the same patches have been applied to the consoles, but the PC version is undergoing all kinds of massive revamps.
For starters:
Completely blown away with the new changes. Considering what Payday was like last year, this almost feels like a completely new game.

For starters:
- Most of the bugs and minor shortcuts have been patched out. No more electrocuting yourself through the vault or picking up bags through a wall.
- Skill tree has been tweaked to add some additional perks and moving others higher/lower.
- New perk cards, which have replaced the health/damage bonus usual achieved by reaching a new tier. Now you are allocated points based on exp and can select which perks you want to unlock. This allows you to mix some of the different classes and really cusomise your character.
- Loads of new DLC; giving a lot more guns, mods, masks etc.
- New missions.
- Improved AI and extra difficulty added - Death Wish (Insanely difficult to do when going 'loud').
- Once you've reached level 100 you can move into the 'infamy' skill tree. I'm not there yet, but it seems similar to 'prestiging' in Call of Duty, but allows you to move into 1 of 4 additional tech trees. They are also adding a 5th today.
- You seem to gain exp a lot quicker and they have removed the exp cap that stopped you accuring exp too quickly. I jumped from level 1 to level 9 doing one hard mission.
- A lot more gearing towards stealth. Missions that can be completed using stealth only are now highlighted.
- The levels are now dynamic depending on your difficulty setting. A bank on easy is different to a bank in deathwish. Cameras are covered in a casing to stop you destroying them, more guards, upgraded vault, slight level layout tweaks etc.
- New bad guys; there is an additional special unit called a 'cloaker' who drops out of vents and downs you. High level SWAT and tactical guys. Higher difficulty makes them near impossible to down without heavy weapons.
Completely blown away with the new changes. Considering what Payday was like last year, this almost feels like a completely new game.
