Oh I don't know to be honest, he just posts his new pics up on his Facebook page most weeks, assumed he went at weekends.

Is it just me, or did RAF Jaguars always travel much faster than all the others ?
Were they faster at low level ? They always seemed to pop up from nowhere !
Just a thought..... did Vulcans and Buccs do the Mach loop ?
Could a Vulcan do it/ would it do it ??..... just one fast run for some photos ??

I had the same thought. Probably a non-starter due to the stresses on the airframe involved in her current condition but maybe after (if) the main spar life is extended it might be possible.

I take it you lot have seen the MachLoop photo's from "our own" Lloyd h ??

Check out his pics, they are incredible, the only way to get closer to the action would be to be the one flying the plane ;-)

Thoroughly recommend going if you're are interested in speed etc, nothing comes close to it. Just don't go on weekends!

When I was a kid we used to look down on Vulcans doing low level stuff at Afan Argoed in South Wales, My Dad used to look down a Javelins whizzing through mid Wales when he was a kid.

We're going to go in the 6 weeks holidays - apart from weekends, do they fly every day or are there days to avoid? Also, how often do they come past - son is nearly 6 so doesn't have the greatest attention span in the world!

Most weekdays they fly anytime from about 9 to 7. On a busy day every hour on a quiet day there can be about 4 hours between them. Iirc there is a schedule somewhere on the net that says when they are flying. (I live in the area hence knowing the rough times) the only problem is that on a quiet day you will wait quite a while and then get about 5 mins of seeing them then waiting around again.

Ignore these guys, they are completely irrelevant for the Loop and for the most part the actual area they cover! The timetable is for LFA7T which is a small part in LFA7 where jets are cleared down to 100ft for 1 hour everyday. I don't think its used that often and I've never seen any pics either.

Sadly its a case of turn up, enjoy the scenery and the weather if its good and hope you see something!

Ah right, just remembered these as I found them somewhere last year, we had a week in Dolserau near Dolgellau so was looking for some info on it. I didn't get up to any of the viewing points but we were situated right under one of the entry points of the loop so plenty of stuff going overhead. Staying in Arthog near Fairbourne later this year, is it only Hawks that enter via the estuary?

When I was at Marham we used to get beat up by the Jags from Coltishall and the Tornados from Honington. The Jags always seemed lower over the perimeter fence and seemed to be going faster.
