Hi All,

Originally i was looking for a 3R Noble, not based on any experiance, simply that i wanted to best spec avaliable.

However i have recently noticed the dramatic price difference between early GTO 2.5 cars and the later 3.0 R cars.

My main issues are these two points, the quaife 6speed box vs the (open?) diffed 5 speed box.

Do these items effect the driving of the car so much that its worth the extra £5k-£10k difference in pricing?
I know they can be retrofitted, but i'm basing everything on stock vs stock.

Thanks

Matt

I'd say yes.. At some point the 5speed w/ open diff will let go and then your looking at more money to repair/upgrade

There's other stuff standard on the 3R that attracted me:
Faired headlights, leather, aircon.
The 3R's supposed to have extra soundproofing in the cabin, which is the sort of benefit you'll appreciate over time. Mind you - still pretty noisy inside.

When my open diff went it cost about 4k to fix it with a new box a LSD fitted. It's an engine out job.

Also at this point you may consider some upgrades.

I would say now though, you could repair this for less money.

the cost depends on weather you would do some of the work yourself or get a garage to do the whole job
