Long shot here, I've installed the software on an old laptop and plugged it into the Cerb, its claiming the ECU is not connected. Is there anything I've likely not done? Tried it with/without engine running, so is there some part of setup I've probably not done? MIL light is now permanently on so I'm intrigued to find out what it's in a mood about...

stupid question, but did you use the cable and this particular laptop before ?
are you connecting the serial cable directly to the pc, or is a serial-usb adapter-cable in between ?

First time on this laptop, the one that came with it wouldn't work! Previous owners hard wired the cable in.

To be fair, the car seems absolutely fine, but the exhaust smells very rich indeed. I think it's burning more fuel than it needs to.

Are you using a USB to Serial converter or plugging in to a physical serial port on the computer?
