4.3/4.5 S6 owners - DVLA notification question

Just a quick question for those of you who've uprated to a Pwer 4.3 or 4.5 engine or similar, on sending away your V5 to the DVLA did any of you have a request back to provide proof of the engine size change? Not an issue, more a question of curiosity as I've been asked for copies of all receipts/invoices to prove the engine has been uprated/changed.

I didn't when I notified them of my 4.0L upgrade.

I sent the registration certificate with the amended engine size to the DVLA and they sent me back the new certificate. They didn't want proof of the engine upgrade from me.

They wanted to know who did it and invoices to prove work done.

Hi Tony

Process is easy.

Update your V5 (the red and blue one) with the engine changes, sign it, attach a copy of Don's receipt for the rebuild and then
send it off to Swansea.

I got mine back last week.

Takes them about 3-5 weeks to process

Yes, the document says you need to provide proof if you read the DLVA website.

Personally I wouldn't bother.. It isn't tax cheating or anything.

I WOULD always inform insurance however.. (Obviously).

It is a legal requirement though - whether you agree with it or not.

The DVLA are not consistent on this one. They have in the past had occasional crackdowns on checking engine changes, then at other times simply waved them through.

I sent them proof three times, then they suddenly lost interest and passed it anyway.
