New Car - Finally got a Fury!!
Discussion
Hi Everyone,
For years I've wanted a Fury, it had to be a Spyder and had to have the Classic style bonnet. Well, I'm happy to say I've found one and bought it. I collect it when we get back from le-mans, and I really cannot wait. It meant selling my XJS V12 and Celica GT4 but i think it's worth it.
I understand the car is known to some on here, it's Ruari's old Cosworth powered car, more recently owned by Cripo on here I believe?
This is the car -

It has a different seat now, and a black cage but is essentially the same! I want to get involved a bit, so if anyone can recommend track days/meets etc I'd be very interested.

performancewize it might be a beast, but the car looked very scruffy and visually in very poor conition ( in and outside) when i saw it last advertized.......imo, it was advertized far too expensive.
Haha, true it may be cosmetically challenged but beauty is only skin deep. It does need some attention on the bodywork and general tidying but nothing serious, and nothing to stop me enjoying the car to the full. As for the price...I was happy with what the price we agreed on, I thought it was fair and still can't wait to collect it.Phil5343 said:

so you didnt pay the full price as advertized i guess? No I don't think they would fit as the Phoenix shape tapers in where a fury doesn't. However, it is that style so I think it is a one off Fury front. That car was originally built to race in Castle Coombe GT's so I'd imagine it was made especially and someone had the buck. I have never seen another Fury with that front on.
Hello Phil
Yes, that's my old car, which I had and enjoyed for around 9 years before I sold it to Crispin. I'm glad it's gone to another good home! Feel free to send me a private mail if you have any queries about it.
Ref. the bonnet, it's a standard big bulge classic with a moulded airdam bonded onto the front and the bottom of the original nose then cut out. Very similar to some of the early racing Phoenixs, but a Fury version of course, and not unique to this car as there have been a few built this way.
Have fun with it, but take it easy!
