After finding out I can fit in one a few days ago, I bought one. 4.0 1992 in dark grey. Picking it up Saturday!! It's amazing and sounds like it wants to eat someone. I love it bounce

Only fault I'll need to look at asap is the fuel presence gauge isn't working. Any suggestions on the first place to look or start would be appreciated.

The gauge on my old S3 wasn't great but at least it wobbled around at the approximate fuel level.

There will be a million questions to follow I'm afraid but you seem a friendly bunch.

Cheers
Richard

Welcome to the forum Rich, we look forward to you keeping us updated on your Griff exploits and work. With respect to the gauge, could be electrical, loose connection etc. When you get the motor check the connections at the gauge fuel tank etc. All the best, Pete

Welcome on board dark grey sounds like an unusual cover. As a previous owner you should know the drill - we need pictures.

Welcome, I am on my third pre-cat so obviously I have lost the plot completely. Great choice and great looking car by the way; the best colour combination IMHO. To set it off, have a look at those split rims, they will come up a treat and shoot any garage that clamps weights on to those ally rims like someone has done on you off side front. I have refurbed a couple of sets in the past, so just shout if you need any help.

This is the car that I just sold, you can see what a difference the wheels make. It makes a pre-cat

the elctrical connections for the fuel guage are located in the boot drivers side on top of the fuel tank. The connectors have a bonded bolt with a nut on top. My bolt was threaded and came loose and the guage failed - simple to fix with a bit of solder. i hope yours is as simple.

I've done a bit of research and it appears the heater fan and fuel gauge are on the same fuse? The fan was number two on the fix list so I could be lucky and it's an easy repair.

Anyone know the fuse type/amp and position? I'll try it when I pick the car up, you never know your luck.

I like a bit of spanner rattling so will need to get hold of a manual asap. is the Steve Heath Bible still available? Anyone got one for sale?

I have friend with a garage and a lift I can borrow so it will be up on the ramps in the next couple of weeks.................

It's all a matter of taste. I hate those wheels!

Hi Rich, is the car left hand drive? Looking at the picture the wipers are parked on the opposite side! Hope you make the Growl, look forward to seeing you and your new beast. Pete

Right hand drive. I think it was me messing with the switchgear/ign etc. First time driving/test running a Griff I was trying to test everything. Not easy when everything is unlabelled and randomly plastered on the dash. The drive home on Saturday should be fun!laugh
