Warranty dilemma, help needed.
Discussion
Hello all,
First post, been lurking for a while. Eight months into the ownership of a very nice Atlantis Halcyon Chimp 450. Loving every minute of it and not wanting anything to taint my enjoyment I made some enquiries this weekend into the possiblility of extending my warranty... Heres the dilemma!!!
Two dealers have informed me that I cannot extend my warranty with my existing warranty provider as the particular company will not take on any more TVR's. I have had a couple of things that have needed sorting, (starter motor, ignition switch) and my warranty has covered it and been great about it, so I do not want another warranty company but obviously do not want to be without a warranty. If this company will not extend, what are the chances of another company providing a warranty ? I also said to the first dealer, "What if I change the Chimp for another one, will I get the customary years warranty cover ?", she replied "at present we have not established an alternative warranty policy to cover our second hand Trevs." I think you can guess why I am a little concerned. What does everyone think, and has any one else encountered this prob and has found a solution?

All dreams of a speed six out of the window now I guess ?
not necessaladcream - just be aware that my views would be totally the opposite if it were a Speed 6. I couldnt afford a rebuild so I would either make sure I found a 100% watertight warranty (which seem few and far between) or I would go into ownership with sufficient funds tucked away for a rebuild if necessary.
PS - usual caveat applies of dont blame me if your Chim now needs lots of work

Not much help, just dont use Warranty Management Services....wouldnt transfer the existing warranty which the previous custodian had on the car (and no claims had been made), made me take out a new (thankfully subsidised by the selling dealer & former owner) warranty out with them and now, 1st claim, the f
s are trying to wriggle out of putting a new ECU in, saying they will only pay for the old one to be repaired, quoting chapter & verse from the policy document. Said I wasnt happy about it being repaired by someone who had no clue about TVRs etc. Also refused to pay out for a hire car (despite it saying in the policy that they would) as they only do if the repairs take longer than 8 hours...I told them Ive been without the car for weeks let alone hours, but the fix and carriage to/from the repairers didnt count, only the actual time needed to install back into the car
Rest assured I will make sure I get my moneys worth out of them before the warranty expires
(There's a claim for a new starter motor waiting in the wings for them now
) I guess the additional AA warranty is going to remain claim free for a bit until I feel WMS have 'paid the price'
Bitter? Me?
