VERY LATE DECISION!!!! - Pi$$ed off at work this morning. I thought sod it!! Rang my mate in Altrincham who was due down to work on the VX220 this weekend and suggested we cancel the spanner work and do Le Mans instead? Got the thumbup so! We're off.

Traveling down (Tunnel) Fri morning and staying at Chanteloupe. Return Monday.

I've been going down since 2001 to the normal 24hr and been to all the Classics, so what you might call a regular! We plan to actually go and see some racing this time! (Not always been the case wink )

So! See you there. driving

Awesome!

This has got to be the way to do it. It saves the agony of buying tickets and then having to wait several months till the event!

No mate. The VX hasn't been down. We only use it on track. We have been down in all sorts. Ultima's, M5, E55, Merc SL etc.
We're in a Merc SL500 this year. Our Tunnel crossing is a bit earlier than yours. 07:20 I think?

See you there. driving

I'm on a 10:50 tunnel friday morning. Reckon if I show up early I'll get on? It worked last year but everyone was delayed anyway due to some "economic migrants" being found on the tracks.l.

In your car?

I once decided to go on the Friday (2 weeks after the mrs popped out our firstborn) got a 3am tunnel on Saturday am, arrived at the circuit at 8am slept in the car and met some mates there.

The best trip I've done there, no hassle and planning, just get on with it!

Perfect!!

At the same site you've been staying at for the last 12 years!!!

Don't tell 'em you're going and boldly question upon arrival ...'What? Didn't you get the email I sent in January?'

(I'm sure they'll squeeze us in. It is a big site. And who would turn regulars away wink )

I quite enjoy looking at newbies at Chanteloup paying their pre-arrival deposits, we've been going since 96 and never paid a deposit once.

It's a fabulous place, can't wait to get there tomorrow!

I've done the same as Sealine South on at least two occasions when my son has not been able to go. Late Friday evening Eurotunnel, arrive at Le Mans at about 4:00 am Saturday, leave after the race, home very late Sunday. Slept in the car. Works well. Mind you, I've always had my Parking Blanc space booked, my GE ticket and tribune seat paid for in advance too, so it's planned but a quick trip.

My grey A4 S-Line Avant will be staying at home. Riding shotgun with mates in a Passat Estate and Civic Type S - we're also on the 0920 from Folkestone tomorrow morning. Will look out for you.

Havent been since '88 when i did a trip with Page & Moy.

A verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long coach trip it was as well.

Always wanted to go back - however dont fancy making the trip on my own (swmbo hates car racing & mates not interested) so doubt i will get back again.

Unless of course some kind soul needs a partner in crime in 2014......

Too late to get down there for this year i fear unless i fly in which isnt going to happen!!!!
