So I've got my new (old refurbished) chassis for my body off resto and now I'm thinking that I should probably get it on a jig just to make sure that it's straight before I start.
so my question is, do any of you know anywhere in the Southampton area that offer this type of thing?

I would have thought a treck to RT racing, nowhere near Southampton but closer than Scotland.

BUT the chassis IS twisted already...that is why the packers are added to drivers side spring to counter the twist!!

You can check a chassis for alignment on level ground with axle stands, tight lines, a spirit level, chalk and a tape measure. I doubt if any Wedge chassis came out of the factory true, and probably not worth trying to straighten it now if it's somewhere near right; easier, quicker and cheaper to use packers (as per factory!).

No, that's not the consensus. Check the chassis to see how twisted it is and if it isn't too far out then restore the condition and use packers when rebuilding.

Sorry, I meant not to bother with a jig but to do it myself on a level surface etc
And use packers

I shouldn't type replies on here with my kids running about as I clearly don't concentrate properly!

Thanks for the replies, can't wait to get started just need to decide what colour to have the chassis done

If you have the body of chassis then check for hairline cracks or worse around all the welded joints!

Someone help me out here...rear twist on early cars, it does not get sorted until the split rear end 400 chassis.
Cars came out the factory with bits of 6mm rubber stuffed on top of the springs to correct the issue, then they supply compressed plastic spacers to replace the bits of rubber that has exuded out and disappeared down the road...after people complained about the car having a lob sided look to it...
