A career working with Dogs

Where to begin...

Basically I like Dogs and I'd like to have a career working with Dogs as I'm pretty stuck on choosing anything else. Maybe I could see myself working with guide dogs, sniffer dogs or even maybe security (Is there money in that though?
Trouble is I'm not sure on what courses I should be looking at that would be suitable, I'm situated in Essex is there anywhere in particular I should be looking?

How old are you? Police or Army being a handler for either an attack dog or a search dog. Neither a going to make you rich but after a few years in the Army you should have 1200-1400 disposable pounds per month. It's about this time you'll get a wife and kids so you feel significantly less well paid!

Customs also use dogs, the training is about 18 weeks resedential, more about getting you up to speed on how to 'read' what the dog is telling you and how to handle it. The money is standard civl service rates and you do not get to take the dog home.

police / UKBA require you to be all ready serving before becoming a dog handler, there isa direct route for the military but it;s a small CEG in a small corps

Standard civil service rules aply regarding age, up to 55. Yes you have to be in the job to get a transfer in to the dog units. But as part of the wider civil service, there are many many different places to be and careers. It's getting in, that's the hard part, given the present situation.

We took our dog to a hydrotherapist the other day. Ex HR who retrained to the role when the other job went to Norway.

Seems busy and gets vet referrals. At home - converted the garage by extending a single garage sideways - not quite a double. £25 per session in rural N Yorkshire.
Costs of water, sanitisation and heating to 29c.
