I had Murray Motor Co. Edinburgh come to my house today and put out ABS related lights on my car and one or two little things I was not sure about for £75.Really top class mechanic and a great service !! Saved me driving 200 miles to get there. If they get a few jobs up here then they come up to the area for the day. Up here once every ten days or so.

Once again thanks for posting this, I've now got them coming up to have a look at my car next week, will probably cost what it would have cost in petrol but it will save putting close to 200 miles on the clock.

The plan is an early 4.7 V8V, most likely not until early 2014 though to allow for funds. Currently running a Brera but there's nothing to progress to in Alfa's range as it needs to be a daily driver (4C would be interesting but no use as a daily for me). Thought about a Maserati GT as well but too big for the garage.

Read Grant's book through and know my spec/colour preferences so now it's just a case of being patient and getting a few test drives in. There's actually a 4.3 up your neck of the woods just now I think (Vardy). Might be worth a wee run up to Aberdeen to kick a few tyres...

Hoping some kind soul round Angus/Aberdeen/Dundee would be up for giving me a run sometime so I can get a feel for the car. I know Shandy81/DavidExige are close to me so Scott/Dave, if you're reading this... smile

Your than welcome to have a look at mine, I'm a couple of miles from Guthrie, however I'm currently working away from home for a couple of weeks, but I'm sure we could sort something out.

Oh and I meant to add, MM are superb, as I bought my car from them, they pick the car up and drop it back as and when it needs a service or work carried out.

David you were corect it was Fazer that came out, he's diagnosed a problem with the window regulator, Murray Motors are going to order the part and he'll becoming back next week to replace it. So far the service has been great.

Straightenout - I had a test drive of the car at Vardy's and wasn't overly impressed as I called two hours ahead to request a test drive and when I got there the car had a flat battery which they jump started after 20 minutes of hanging around then during the test drive half the electrics didn't work, most annoying was the electric seats and a vey awkward driving position! Glad I had a quick shot of a 4.3 V8 as it convinced me to push the budget to a 4.7 V8 which I collected from London last week and drove up to the NE through the night.

Yup, murray's have been great - they've been out three times to me now; twice for a recurring issue with a poor connection on an airbag that kept triggering the SRS light (resolved second time round), and once for a passenger side window regulator. Had a different tech each time and all have been professional, very pleasant and well informed. Living in Aberdeen, you get used to the Edinburgh slog for every little thing, so MMC making the effort for the customer makes a massive difference to me.

BTW for whoever said they wanted to test drive the 4.3 at peter vardy, note there's also a 2008 (I think) 4.3 at Station Garage in Torphins too. Only another 15 miles west of Aberdeen (and if you come over the cairn o mount, a nicer drive too). I live pretty close by there; if you let me know when you're headed up, I might be around to take you for that spin... thumbup

I was wondering if any of the NE Scotland owners might fancy a run up to Inverness / Lochinver / Lairg one weekend? I did it with some pals a few weeks ago and we had a stonking time. Some of the roads were absolutely amazing and, once out of Inverness, we didn't see a single plod the entire weekend. Of course, we kept well within the speed limits...

Head away Saturday morning, overnight somewhere, back Sunday?
