Does anyone know if they'll be racing after yesterday's 'off' ? It was a bit of a biggy!

Don't know what they were running before, but it's a 2012 spec chassis that they're waiting to take delivery of.

According to Radio LM they have just taken delivery of a rented 458 GTE which they need to rebuild then qualify tonight!

It's an Italian car they've "borrowed", which is somewhere between GT3 and GTE spec, so needs a fairly comprehensive rebuild to get it eligible for the race - little things like the engine, gearbox, headlights etc need swapping over.

That is a fairly comprehensive rebuild, long day for the mechanics.

Bloody hell, hope it's not like the JLOC lambo a few years back that didn't even make a lap come the race. That was an awesome sounding car. Also Risi killed their 458 last year, but had less to do.

You know I've only just realised there's no underdog Lamborghini this year? Who's going to fill the void of being everyone's favourite car? The one that sounds awesome but is a bit of a rubbish racer? The one that only just makes the start and then retires in the first hour?

It's been a Spyker, it's been a TVR, it's been a Lamborghini, it's been a Zonda, it's been a Morgan, who fills that void this year?

I guess that would be the Krohn 458!

If they manage to get it built to LM spec in time for quali, it will be a heroic effort that deserves our support.

I shall be cheering them on this year, purely on the strength of this thread.

Pretty sure there was a full Ferrari rebuild in 2012 or 2011 too? Good luck to the guys and gals who will be putting in a marathon effort pre race.

A billion, fair enough, he can afford it!

Seriously though, great effort from the team, really hope they can get it to the finish. Apparently it needed rewiring too!!
