For the next change of tyres I'm considering going to the next size up of 315s rear and 235s front. But does anyone have any pics of a silver 996 turbo or similar wearing these sizes. Wondering how much they look bigger visually.

Cheers

Not sure if this really helps but I am running a 996C4s on 19inch rims using 235/35/19 & 305/30/19 pilot sports. Not to everyone's taste but I like it and the car drives and handles really well. Have to say the ride is a little more harsh than it is running on the standard wheels.

Cheers YTE

I totally fail to see how wider rubber (ie more unsprung weight) can possibly affect the handling positively in such a way as you would notice on the road. Were you running out of mechanical grip on the factory recommended rubber? Do you ever get near the limit when cornering when driving on the public road?

I believe in the vast majority of cases, people buy bigger rubber because they think it looks better.

For track of course more factors can come into play. My 928 is under tyred at the front for track work. But on a 911 I'm less convinced. I stuck with 205 at the front of mine..

Don't agree.

I up sized from 225 to 235's on the TT above as I found the car far too under steering. Going up
1 size on the front made a noticeable difference, and helped the overall balance of the car.

Think 6C4GTS has run these sizes for a few years now on his C4S. Plenty of pics and vids via his profile.

Hmmmm, not really seeing it in these pics. Was really just wondering if it looked odd or bulged out too much.

Here is a narrow body C2 with those sizes on RH TurboPs, very little if any tyre beyond the body but can rub on the front under lock.
