A Job in/around Cardiff working with animals required

As per the title really.
My daughter will leave college next month with a Level 3 BTEC in Animal Management. She would like a career working with animals but has decided not to go down the Veterinary Nursing route.
In practical terms there are no Zoos in Cardiff, there are a couple of Animal Parks perhaps up to 20 miles away or are remote so that makes it difficult for her to get to straight away.
It appears that most roles with RSPCA and PDSA and the like get filled internally which leaves her trying to find a volunteering position until a permanent role comes up. Trouble is these organisations have a load of people waiting to volunteer (most of whom appear to have little intention of making it their full time career - I wish they would only offer positions to people who want to make a career out of it but there you go).
So anyone got any helpful suggestions or maybe are in some sort of position to offer an interview or a trial. Currently she does not drive but hoping to sort this out more in the short than medium term.

Yes - unfortunately that is one of the ones that is difficult to get to.
Whilst 2 buses of a morning wouldn't be a problem as at the moment she is up before 6am to get to college 20 miles away - the problem would be the nearest bus stop would be over a mile away from there and I don't think you could expect a young girl to walk up virtually single track roads for perhaps a mile or so. (Thinking of the safety aspect -not so bad in the light summer months but dangerous when its starts to get dark.
