..To be fair to the Porsche drivers, I've lost count of how many Caterhams I have nearly got tangled up with on track days, they are so small, late on the brakes and good in the bends, and always seems to be in your blind spot, sometimes you just don't see them coming..

Just to liven thread up a little-- why do they always have an "attitude"?
It seems to me that they think they have something to prove and are intent on doing it.
Before anyone starts on me-- they do not see which way I went--or came from-- but that does not stop them sticking nose in a gap that was always going to close .

It isn't a trackday. That's all that really matters.

Ive had this at the ring. Ended up face to face in the car park. Jumped up danish pr1ck banging on about how he was faster so I should have moved aside. My response was that if he was actually faster he should have been able to overtake safely not running me off in the process.

Classic quick in corner slow on straights conundrum.

There's no skill in being fast down the straights....

Couldn't agree more. Other than big cahoonas when approaching 200 clicks and above, nothing else to it.

Pardon my ignorance, not having raced on track, but what are the Porsches doing wrong, if anything, to infuriate the caterham driver?
Is that the point of the thread? They did nothing, because I can't see anything (unless there was a bust up in the paddock beforehand)?

Yellow Pork passing down the straight then blocking into the corner.

Well I'll disagree as that's what I do. A core principle to lap times is the speed on exit onto the straight and being able to get on the gas early. So the skill in going fast down the straights is in the previous corner!

I think the Porsche's behaviour was good-- they left room when they could have turned in. Cars of completely different performance characteristics ie lightweight clubman-- has obvious advantage over drivers of the level seen in video-- he would not want to try the same moves on more experienced quicker drivers in Porsche's or he would get real rebuke!!
The other comment I would make-- abusing other drivers at this type of track day is just plain dumb thinking and offensive. Clubman guy clearly has the "attitude" problem. He also has no idea of different performance characteristics of different types of cars .
Just noticed it was "practice" rather than a trackday--- be interested to see the actual race outcome if these cars were in the same race. Even if it was qualifying-- my comments above apply.
